The Southwest Licking Community Water and Sewer District would like to welcome you to our official website. This website is to provide another vehicle of communication and exchange of valuable information between the District, our customers and the public.

The 2015 Operating Budget has been approved
by the Board of Trustees and
is available for review on the Financials page.

The District will be smoke testing sanitary sewers
Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19th and 20th,
in the following areas:

Oak Meadows Subdivision
Summit Road, North of SR16
Harrison Street
Klema Drive
Glenbrook Subdivision
Taylor Road
Summit Ridge Drive, North and South
Belmar Drive, North and South
Belz Warner Blvd.
Broad Street, from Taylor Road to Summit Road

District Inspectors have begun hand delivering notices to customers in the test area.
Road signs will also be placed in the test area

advising drivers that a smoke test is in progress.

moke Testing assists District Inspectors in locating
obstructions, breaks, and/or deficiencies
in the sanitary sewer collection system.
During the test, you may see smoke coming from
vent stacks on buildings or from the ground.

The smoke has no odor, is non-toxic, non-staining,
does not represent or create a fire hazard,
and will dissipate in a few minutes.

Please be aware that children, the elderly,
and others who might not be aware of or understand
the test may be confused if they see smoke.

The smoke resulting from this testing process is harmless.

Before we conduct the smoke test,
please pour water into your basement floor drains and into any unused sinks.
This will seal the drain traps so that smoke
will not enter your building through the drain.

If smoke does enter your building during test,
there could be a break in the sewer line
that could potentially allow sewer gas to enter your building.

Please note the location of any smoke and contact our office at
to schedule an inspection of your building and service line.
Open doors and windows to ventilate any smoke that enters your building.

If you have any questions or concerns about the smoke testing process,
contact the District Office at the telephone number above.
